To me, identity is who you are, and how you act. Behind every small detail in this picture, there is a reason for it. I am by a tree, outside, because when I am a senior I want to be interacted in my environment, and within my community. My makeup is bold, to show my creativity, and my passion for the arts. I am not smiling, yet I am not frowning. This is a symbol of power to me, I am strong. My hair is not done, it is messy to show that I don't need little things to make me happy, and I don't need little things to make me feel beautiful.
I plan to achieve this by staying true to myself. Standing up for what I believe in. Not hiding who I am, and what I believe in. Like Griet, I will be as independent as she is. "I shall explain to her when I see her on Sunday, I thought. I have two families now, and they must not mix" (Chevalier 57.) This is big sign of independence. If she really wanted to, she could start drama in between the two households. But she doesn't, she keeps them both separated.
